Community & Content Guidelines
Last updated: March 5, 2026
Darkspire Table Top is built for collaborative storytelling and shared worlds. These Community & Content Guidelines ("Guidelines") explain how we keep our virtual tables welcoming, safe, and fair for everyone.
1. Respect at the Table
- Be kind and respectful – disagreement about rules or story is normal; personal attacks, insults, or harassment are not. Critique the idea, not the person.
- No hate or bigotry – content or behaviour that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar characteristics is not allowed.
- Consent matters – some themes (horror, psychological tension, etc.) are best handled with clear expectations and consent at your table. If someone is uncomfortable, adjust and respect their boundaries.
2. Content Boundaries
Darkspire Table Top supports a wide range of fantasy and roleplaying content, but there are clear limits on what is acceptable on the Service, including in private spaces:
- Violence – fantasy combat is expected, but graphic or gratuitous real-world gore may be removed where we deem it excessive or in breach of these Guidelines.
- Sexual content – any sexual content involving minors or young-looking characters is strictly prohibited. We may restrict or remove explicit adult content that is inappropriate for the Service or violates law or platform rules.
- Self-harm and suicide – content that encourages or glorifies self-harm or suicide is not allowed. Sensitive topics should be handled with care and consent.
- Illegal activities – do not use the Service to coordinate or promote illegal activity, real-world violence, or terrorism.
3. Intellectual Property and Copyright
- Only upload or share content you have the right to use (your own work or properly licensed material).
- Do not share pirated rulebooks, commercial maps, art, or music without permission from the rights holder, or in breach of any licence that applies.
- Respect trademarks and logos. Do not use them in a way that suggests official endorsement where none exists, or which could confuse other users.
4. Security, Cheating, and Exploits
- No cheating or exploits – do not attempt to gain an unfair advantage in games through unauthorised tools, exploits, or manipulation of the Service.
- No malware or phishing – do not distribute malware, phishing attempts, or other harmful content via the Service.
- Report vulnerabilities – if you discover a bug or possible vulnerability, please report it to us at [security contact email] rather than exploiting it.
5. Public vs. Private Spaces
We understand that many groups use Darkspire Table Top for private sessions between friends, while others share content more broadly. These Guidelines apply everywhere on the Service.
- Private tables and sessions – you have flexibility to run the stories and tones you prefer, but illegal, non-consensual, or abusive content is not allowed anywhere on the Service.
- Public content and listings – content that is visible beyond your own table (for example, public campaigns, assets, or listings) must be appropriate for a wider audience and comply fully with these Guidelines.
6. Enforcement
We reserve the right, acting reasonably, to take action when we believe these Guidelines or our Terms of Use have been breached. This may include:
- Removing or editing content.
- Issuing warnings or temporary restrictions.
- Suspending or permanently banning accounts in serious or repeated cases.
We will consider the context, severity, and history of behaviour when deciding what action to take, but our decisions on enforcement are final to the fullest extent permitted by law.
7. Reporting Concerns
If you see content or behaviour that you believe breaks these Guidelines:
- Use any in-app reporting tools where available, or
- Contact us at [support contact email] with as much detail as possible (for example, relevant usernames, links, screenshots, and a description of what happened).
We review reports as promptly as we reasonably can. For privacy and safety reasons, we may not be able to share detailed outcomes of moderation actions with you.
8. Relationship with Other Terms
These Guidelines form part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict, the Terms of Use will take precedence to the extent of the conflict.
9. Changes to These Guidelines
We may update these Guidelines from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our Service or in applicable law. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
Thank you for helping keep Darkspire Table Top a respectful and inspiring place to play, tell stories, and build worlds together.
